In a series of posts on X, Home Minister Shah, as per news agency JKNS, said that through Budget 2026-27, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented a clear blueprint that empowers every sector, every class and every citizen, while also providing on-ground support to help them progress at every step. He said the Viksit Bharat Budget reflects a vision of building an India that leads the world across all domains.

Shah said the budget strengthens aspirations across manufacturing, infrastructure, healthcare, tourism, rural development, artificial intelligence, sports and pilgrimage sectors, adding that it gives renewed strength to the dreams of youth, women and farmers in every village, town and city. He congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a budget that outlines a 25-year roadmap towards building a developed India by 2047.

Highlighting economic reforms, Shah said post-Covid, India’s economy has gained strong momentum under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He added that the Viksit Bharat Budget accelerates this momentum further, positioning India as the world’s most attractive investment destination across traditional as well as emerging sectors.

On agriculture and rural economy, the Home Minister said the budget takes far-sighted decisions to boost farmers’ income through livestock development by increasing the number of veterinarians and expanding veterinary and training centres. He said credit-linked subsidies for dairy and poultry sectors, development of 500 water bodies to promote fisheries, and opening global markets for produce will prove to be milestones in enhancing farmers’ income.

Shah also termed the launch of the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj Yojana as a historic step towards realising Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of village self-reliance, stating that it will strengthen the rural economy and provide new support to weavers, farmers and the handloom sector. He added that initiatives like the Coconut Promotion Scheme benefiting three crore farmers in coastal regions, promotion of cashew and cocoa production and exports, and sandalwood conservation reflect the government’s strong commitment to making agriculture a profitable and sustainable enterprise.

On infrastructure, Shah said the budget will give unprecedented momentum to connectivity, with the announcement of seven high-speed rail corridors aimed at transforming inter-city travel and significantly reducing travel time across key economic and population centres.

Shah congratulated Prime Minister Modi on setting a major economic benchmark through the Viksit Bharat Budget, stating that it reaffirms the government’s commitment to growth with fiscal discipline, while successfully achieving the target of keeping the fiscal deficit below 4.5 per cent. (JKNS)
