DSEK Constitutes Divisional Monitoring Teams to Oversee Winter Tutorial Centres in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 29 (JKNS): The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has constituted three Divisional Monitoring Teams to ensure effective monitoring, supervision and quality assurance of Winter Tutorial Centres established across the Kashmir Division.

According to Order No. 38-DSEK of 2026 dated January 29, issued in continuation to Order No. 7055, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, the monitoring teams will cover all districts of the Valley. For Bandipora, Kupwara and Baramulla, the team will be headed by the Joint Director (North) along with the concerned Chief Education Officer and Principal DIET or a nominated representative.

The districts of Budgam, Srinagar and Ganderbal will be monitored by a team led by the Joint Director (Central), while Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama will fall under a team headed by the Joint Director (Elementary Education), each team also comprising the concerned CEO and DIET Principal or nominee, it reads.

The order states that the monitoring teams shall conduct regular visits to the Winter Tutorial Centres to assess teaching-learning processes, verify teacher attendance and engagement, and ensure that tutorials are conducted strictly as per notified norms, prescribed timings and subject allocations. The observations of each visit will be properly documented and shared with the Directorate through the proper channel for review and follow-up.

The teams have also been tasked with recommending benefits under Rule 27 of the J&K Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1979, in favour of academic staff found to be practically involved in teaching during the winter period, the order added. (JKNS)
