Officials said traffic disruptions at certain points were primarily caused by vehicles moving without anti-skid chains on slippery road surfaces.

The SDM intervened on the spot to regulate traffic and directed drivers to strictly use anti-skid chains while travelling on snow-bound roads. He also inspected the Power Grid Station at Lisser to review the electricity supply situation and instructed concerned officials to remain alert and ensure uninterrupted power supply, especially to essential services, during the inclement weather.

Officials said the SDM also interacted with local residents and shopkeepers, listened to their grievances and assured them that the administration is closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary measures to minimise inconvenience to the public.

All concerned departments have been directed to maintain close coordination and remain prepared to respond to any emergency arising due to snowfall. The public has been advised to follow safety advisories and cooperate with the administration. (JKNS)
