New Delhi, Jan 14 (JKNS): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shri Rakesh Aggarwal, IPS (HP:1994), presently serving as Special Director General (SDG) of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), as the Director General, National Investigation Agency.

According to an official order issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, the appointment has been cleared on the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Shri Aggarwal will assume charge as Director General, NIA, in Level-16 of the Pay Matrix from the date he takes over the post and will continue till August 31, 2028, which is the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The order in this regard was issued on January 14, 2026. (JKNS)
