Skill Development Initiative Launched to Empower Youth

Srinagar, Jan 3: In a step aimed at promoting self-reliance and skill-based empowerment among youth, the 10th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), in collaboration with Saving The Future NGO, on Friday inaugurated a one-month Skill Development Course in Mobile Repairing and Data Entry.

As per news agency JKNS, The opening ceremony of the programme was held on January 3, 2026, marking the formal commencement of free training for students. The initiative is being supported by the Kawa Group of Institute, Khanyar, Srinagar, and Azeeta Qureshi, Under Secretary, Lieutenant Governor’s Grievance Cell, J&K.

The organisers said that the courses are being offered completely free of cost with the objective of enhancing digital literacy, vocational skills, and employment opportunities for young participants.

Officials from the SSB and partner organisations highlighted that such initiatives play a crucial role in enabling youth to become self-reliant and future-ready. The programme aims to equip participants with practical skills that can help them pursue livelihoods or self-employment opportunities.

The initiative was appreciated by students and local stakeholders, who termed it a positive step towards building brighter and more secure futures for the youth. (JKNS)
