Srinagar, 01 Jan: Callisto Art & Culture, in collaboration with the Ehsaas Foundation, successfully organised the 3rd International Art Competition on the theme “Harud”, witnessing participation from artists across India and several countries. The theme reflected autumn as a symbol of transition, memory, resilience, and renewal, deeply connected to Kashmir’s cultural and emotional ethos.

The competition was judged by an eminent international jury, whose members shared varied and insightful messages. Carlos Miguel Ramirez (Mexico) appreciated the artists for translating regional narratives into a universal visual language. Dr. Ceyhun Konak (Turkey) highlighted the emotional and poetic strength reflected in the artworks. Daniel Gallegos Esquivias (Arequipa, Peru) praised the honesty and cultural depth of the submissions, while Prof. Zargar Zahoor, Former Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, commended the initiative for nurturing artistic excellence and encouraging emerging talent.

In his message, Vice Chairman Ehsaas Foundation, Burhan Nazir, said the Foundation’s association with the event stemmed from its commitment to Sufi values, cultural enrichment, and community service. He stated that art plays a vital role in promoting peace and understanding, and such international collaborations help position Kashmir as a centre of creativity, cultural dialogue, and harmony. He thanked the jury members, organisers, and participating artists for making the event meaningful and impactful.

Zahoor Kashmiri, Founder of Callisto Art & Culture, and the driving force behind the competition, said the initiative was conceived to build strong artistic bridges between Kashmiri artists and the global art community. He described the platform as a rare opportunity for local artists to showcase their work alongside international peers. Emphasising the importance of perseverance, he said that persistence, patience, and hope are essential companions on the artistic journey, adding that such platforms encourage confidence, exchange of ideas, and global exposure for emerging artists.

After detailed deliberations, the jury announced the Top Five Selected Artists: Neeraj Raina, Muzamil Ahmad, Irtiqa Bazaz, Rithul Naresh, and Subina Gul. The organisers said the competition marked another significant step toward strengthening cultural exchange and reinforcing Kashmir’s growing presence on the international art map.
