According to local sources, the heavy snowfall has disrupted normal movement, and vehicular traffic remains difficult due to slippery roads and snow-covered stretches. As a result, the Tangdhar-Kupwara road has remained closed for the past two days, adding to the hardships of commuters and local residents. Meanwhile, the BEACON department has been pressed into service and is actively engaged in snow clearance operations, working continuously to restore the road for vehicular movement as soon as weather conditions permit.

Authorities have advised travelers and commuters to avoid unnecessary movement and strictly follow safety advisories until conditions improve. Snow clearance teams remain on alert, while residents in nearby areas have been urged to take adequate precautions against extreme cold.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that intermittent snowfall may continue, with temperatures expected to dip further in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, the scenic beauty of Sadhna Top has drawn attention, as the region stands transformed into a stunning winter landscape. However, officials have reiterated that public safety remains the top priority amid the prevailing harsh weather conditions. (JKNS)
