Anantnag, Dec 10 (JKNS): To address public concerns ahead of the winter season, the Sub-Divisional Administration Kokernag on Tuesday organised a Block Diwas cum public outreach programme at Dandipora Larnoo, following directions from the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag.
The programme, held under the aegis of the Rural Development Department, was presided over by SDM Kokernag Prince Kumar (IAS) and saw the participation of the ACD, Tehsildar & BDO Larnoo, ZEO Vailoo, AEE PDD, and officers from R&B, PMGSY, Social Welfare, ICDS, Animal Husbandry, JK Bank, besides civil society members, ex-PRI representatives and residents.
During the camp, locals raised several issues including road connectivity, healthcare gaps, teacher rationalisation, JJM works, availability of machinery for snow clearance, credit disbursement under self-employment schemes, man–animal conflict, and the availability of firewood for winter.
The SDM gave a patient hearing to the grievances and reiterated the administration’s commitment to time-bound redressal of all genuine issues. He directed concerned officers on the spot to ensure prompt action and assured residents that unresolved matters would be escalated to the appropriate departments.
Officers from various departments also sensitised locals about welfare and beneficiary-oriented schemes, encouraging people to avail the services being offered.
The locals appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that such outreach programmes would continue in the future for the welfare and development of the area. (JKNS)
