Srinagar, Oct 31 (JKNS): On the solemn occasion of the martyrdom of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Congress leader and artist Er Danish Reshi led a heartfelt tribute, honouring the legacy of the country’s first woman Prime Minister.
Reshi, known for his dual role in the creative arts and public service, emphasising Indira Gandhi’s contributions to India’s unity, its economy and its national character. He said:
“Her sacrifice for the country’s unity and integrity will always inspire us on the path of public service.”
He recalled Indira Gandhi’s bold decisions, national-integration efforts and her role in shaping modern India. The gathering included floral tributes, cultural performances and a moment of silence at the memorial site in New Delhi.
