Budgam Police Conducts Drug Abuse Awareness Drive at Girls Higher Secondary School, Charar-i-Shareef

Budgam, Oct 17 (JKNS): As part of its continuous efforts to combat drug abuse and strengthen community engagement, Budgam Police organized a Drug Abuse Awareness Programme under the theme “Drug-Free Kashmir” at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Charar-i-Shareif.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, parents and officers of Budgam Police. The awareness sessions aimed to sensitize participants about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to train parents and teachers in identifying early warning signs of substance use among youth.

During the programme, experts and police officers highlighted the long-term physical, psychological and social consequences of drug addiction. They emphasized the importance of early detection, community vigilance and coordinated efforts between law enforcement agencies, educational institutions and families to effectively curb the menace.

Interactive discussions and presentations facilitated by the resource persons encouraged participants to share their views and experiences, fostering a collective commitment towards building a drug-free and healthy society.

Participants expressed their appreciation for the proactive role of Budgam Police in organizing such awareness programmes and acknowledged its consistent efforts in promoting community-oriented initiatives to safeguard the youth from the dangers of drug addiction.

Budgam Police remains steadfast in its mission to create a safe, healthy and drug-free environment across the district. (JKNS)
