Sopore Police Distributes Winter Essentials to Families, Reinforcing Community Bonds

Sopore, Oct 14 (JKNS): Sopore Police distributed essential items including sewing machines, wheelchairs, blankets, heaters, and school kits to deserving families across the district, reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and strengthening police-public relations.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS, police spokesperson said, As part of the Civic Action Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Sopore Police on Tuesday distributed essential items among deserving families from across all police stations of the district, reaffirming its commitment to compassion-driven community service.

Statement reads that, Items distributed included sewing machines, wheelchairs, blankets, heaters, and school bags with books and stationery. The initiative aimed to extend meaningful support to families in need, particularly ahead of the winter season, while strengthening the bond between police and the public.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Sopore Shri Iftkhar Talib-JKPS stated, “This initiative reflects our continued resolve to stand with the people we serve not only in law enforcement but also in care, inclusion, and social welfare. Effective policing begins with compassion and trust, and through such civic programmes, we aim to reinforce both.”

Other senior officers of Police District Sopore including Addl. SP Sopore, SDPOs, DySP DAR, DySP Ops, and SHOs were also present during the event, it reads.

Sopore Police reaffirmed its resolve to continue such outreach programmes in the future, strengthening public trust and fostering a sense of shared responsibility and community partnership, reads the statement. (JKNS)
