India, Australia Armies Begin 4th Edition of Joint Exercise ‘AUSTRAHIND’ in Perth

The 4th edition of the India-Australia joint military Exercise AUSTRAHIND commenced today at Irwin Barracks, Perth, Australia.

Scheduled from October 13 to 26, 2025, AUSTRAHIND-2025 aims to enhance interoperability, joint planning and execution capabilities of both armies in diverse operational environments.

Notably, the joint drills will focus on counter-terrorism operations in urban and semi-urban terrain a vital operational domain in the contemporary security landscape. The participating contingents will also rehearse scenarios drawn from United Nations peacekeeping operations, simulating realistic multi-national missions that demand close coordination, adaptability and rapid response.

As the exercise progresses, troops will engage in comprehensive tactical manoeuvres, joint mission planning and field training exercises designed to test and refine operational synergy. The interaction will foster mutual understanding and enduring camaraderie between both forces.

AUSTRAHIND-2025 will reaffirm the shared commitment of the Indian and Australian Armies towards regional peace, security, and stability, while further strengthening the foundation of trust and cooperation between the two countries.
