National Pride: DPS Srinagar Athletes Bring Home Silver for India

Srinagar, Oct 4 (JKNS): In a triumphant moment for both school and country, three students from Delhi Public School Srinagar have etched their names on the international stage, securing prestigious medals for Team India at the 3rd Junior Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2025.

Making the victory even more special, the championship was held right here on home soil at the SK Indoor Sports Complex in Srinagar, from September 25th to 30th. The championship brought together 11 countries and 12 teams.

In a powerful demonstration of skill and tenacity against Asia’s elite, three of our most formidable athletes ascended the podium, clinching coveted Silver Medals. The school and the nation celebrate the monumental achievements of:

Hurriyah Showkat (Class 11th)
Samma (Class 11th)
Mysha Bilal Kanth (Class 10th)
Principal, Ms. Shafaq Afshan, expressed her profound pride: “Representing India is the highest honour, and our students have done so with exceptional power and grace. Their victory is a testament to their relentless dedication and serves as a profound inspiration to their peers. They have proven they can compete with the world’s best.”

Chairman, Mr. Vijay Dhar, lauded the champions, remarking, “These athletes are a source of immense pride for the entire DPS family and the nation.
