UN Headquarters, New York: India on Friday strongly reiterated its policy of zero-tolerance towards terrorism and called for greater global cooperation to combat the menace in all its forms, at a United Nations (UN) Ministerial Meeting in New York.
The message was delivered by Sibi George, Secretary (West) at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), while presenting India’s National Statement at the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism.
“India has once again highlighted its zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and emphasised the need for the world to come together in the fight against the menace in all its manifestations,” reported Newsonair.
The meeting of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism, which was established in June 2019, brings together UN Member States and Observers with a focus on promoting a comprehensive approach to protecting the human rights of victims of terrorism.
Secretary George’s statement underscored India’s firm commitment to ensuring justice for victims of terror and the necessity of a unified international front to decisively counter and dismantle terrorist networks globally.
