Sakeena Itoo virtually attends ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ launch ceremony

SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo today virtually attended the inaugural ceremony of ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar (Healthy Women, Empowered Families)’ Abhiyaan, a 16 days National Health Campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.
Senior officers of health and medical education department also attended the launch ceremony alongside the Health Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister urged upon the officers of health department to carry this unique national health outreach campaign regarding women’s health and well being to every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir. She asked them to involve all stakeholders from Panchayat level into this campaign so that its desired objectives can be achieved.
The Health Minister also called upon the officers to conduct awareness among the masses through electronic, print and social media, so that maximum people can take benefits from this Abhiyaan.
The Minister, on the occasion, also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister for launching a dedicated campaign for the women’s health and well being.
Pertinently, ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ Abhiyaan is considered to be the largest ever health outreach for women in the country and over One Lakh Health Camps will be organized across the country from 17th September to 2nd October under this initiative.
The camps will be organized at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres (CHCs), District Hospitals and other government health facilities across the country. Daily health camps will also be held in all government health facilities.
This nationwide intensified campaign seeks to provide women-centric preventive and curative health services at the community level. It will strengthen screening, early detection, and treatment linkages for non-communicable diseases, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease, while also promoting maternal, child, and adolescent health through antenatal care, immunisation, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, lifestyle and mental health awareness activities.
