Srinagar, Sep 10 (JKNS): A 28-year-old shepherd from Udhampur district was killed after being attacked by a bear in the Kharpath Larnoo forest area of Kokernag on Wednesday.
An official told news agency JKNS, the victim has been identified as Sadam Hussain Koshi, son of Ab Wahid Koshi, a resident of Majalta, Udhampur.
He was herding sheep when the wild animal attacked him around 3 PM, resulting in his on-spot death.
Officials said that the body was shifted to PHC Larnoo, where doctors declared him brought dead. After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to his family for last rites.
Cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation started. (JKNS)
