Officials said the SDM personally verified staff presence and service delivery at these establishments. Expressing strong displeasure over the widespread absenteeism, the SDM termed the situation “unacceptable” and directed immediate disciplinary action against the erring staff members. Heads of departments were instructed to ensure strict compliance with duty rosters, maintain proper attendance records, and submit regular reports.

“The administration will not tolerate negligence or absenteeism at the cost of public service. Surprise inspections will continue to enforce accountability and ensure better efficiency in government offices,” SDM Lone said.

The Information & PR Department, Kupwara, will share further details regarding the absent employees and the action initiated against them in the coming days
