SRINAGAR: In view of the ongoing spell of incessant rainfall across the Valley, Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Anshul Garg conducted an on-ground inspection at Ram Munshi Bagh this morning to assess the water levels of River Jhelum.
During the visit, Div Com reviewed real-time gauge readings from various monitoring stations and was briefed on the historical flood trends of River Jhelum and its tributaries, along with the current rainfall statistics in the catchment areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Anshul Garg informed that the administration is continuously monitoring the evolving situation. He assured that all necessary contingency plans and response mechanisms are in place to effectively manage any potential flood-related challenges.
Div Com also appealed to the general public to remain vigilant, follow official advisories, and avoid venturing close to rivers, streams, and other water bodies during this period of heightened vulnerability.
