DC Kupwara reviews progress of works executed by RDD, performance of NRLM-SHGs

KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of works of Rural Development Department (RDD) and NRLM-Self-help Groups (SHGs) in the district.
After in depth review of RDD&PRI department, DC directed the officers to gear up the pace of work and ensure completion of all the ongoing works within the stipulated time frame. He directed the concerned BDOs to improve their performance under MGNREGA which is very crucial for generation of income to the common people especially poor ones in rural economy.
On the occasion, ACD through a detailed PowerPoint presentation briefed the chair about the progress and achievements of the Rural Development Department in the district. He informed that the department has 109290 job card holders, 154030 active works, besides, the department has generated 48 lakh man days last year.
The department has achieved 66.39 % commensuration to 17.92 lakh Person Days (PD) out of the targeted 27 lakh PDs for the ongoing financial year.
Reviewing PMAY-G, it was informed that 10067 cases out of the total sanctioned 10896 cases have been paid the financial assistance fully for construction of the low budget house. Under PMAY-G 2.0, surveys of 42897 households have been done in all 26 blocks of the district out of which 19463 households have been verified.
Regarding the District CAPEX Budget, 2005 works have been approved under ADF, ABDS, APDS and SSY. Discussions were also held on the progress of CDF works, MPLADS.
Under the SBM scheme, it was informed that the tendering of the works is 83%. The emphasis was made on the functioning of assets created. The door-to-door collection mechanism was also reviewed in detail. DC directed the BDOs for effective utilization of assets under SBM with a daily routine of collection of Solid waste.
He directed revenue authorities for early resolution of land availability for Panchyat Ghars, FSM, DEEWATS etc.
ADDC Kupwara, Mufti Fareed-u-Din; Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kupwara, Muzaffar Ahmad; CPO, Parvaiz Ahmad; BDOs, AEEs, AEs and other concerned officials attended the meeting along with District and Block Program Managers (DPM/BPM) of NRLM together with the various Branch managers of different banks.
