DC Budgam reviews PMAY-Urban implementation across all Municipal Committees

98 cases approved by DLC; DC emphasises transparency, timely verification & housing for all for the targeted beneficiaries

BUDGAM, AUGUST 06: To expedite the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U), Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat today chaired a DLC-cum-review meeting at the DC office complex, here.
The meeting focused on evaluating the physical and financial progress of the scheme across all six Municipal Committees (MCs) of the district.
As per the data presented, a total of 3152 applications have been received through the Urban Ward Platform (UWP). Of these, 3100 are under Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) and 52 under Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP).
During the meeting, DLC approved 98 cases for assistance across different MCs of the district.
The DC was apprised that in MC Budgam, 2120 applications have been received (2102 BLC, 18 AHP), in MC Magam, 337 applications (336 BLC, 1 AHP), in MC Khansahib, 76 applications (76 BLC), in MC Chadoora, 311 applications (281 BLC, 30 AHP), in MC Charar-i-Sharief, 100 applications (100 BLC) and in MC Beerwah, 232 applications (231 BLC, 1 AHP).
Emphasising the importance of transparency and precision in beneficiary selection, DC directed Revenue Officers and Executive Officers (EOs) to expedite the verification process and ensure that no eligible household is left behind.
DC directed for strict implementation of scheme guidelines at every stage that’s from identifying beneficiaries to releasing funds and monitoring construction progress. He also directed for advance mobilisation of funds to avoid delays in housing construction.
DC instructed the concerned for daily monitoring of houses under construction to ensure timely completion. He directed for close coordination among engineers, field teams, and municipal officers to speed up implementation.
Dr Bilal stressed for thorough and diligent field verification to ensure only genuine beneficiaries are selected and no eligible person is left out.
He said that the district administration is committed towards achieving the objective of ‘Housing for All; under the PMAY-U, promising full institutional support to reach full saturation under the scheme.
Besides, ACR Budgam, DSWO, all Tehsildars, Executive Officers of all MCs, officials from Revenue and Urban Development department, and other implementing field agencies were present in the meeting.
