The beneficiaries, who lost their loved ones to terrorist violence over the past three decades, belong to different regions of the Valley — Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara in north Kashmir; Budgam, Ganderbal, and Srinagar in central Kashmir; and Pulwama, Shopian, and Anantnag in south Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, some of the appointees shared their emotional experiences. “I was only six months old when my father became a victim of terrorism. Our family members left us alone. When Manoj Sinha Sahab announced that within 30 days we would be given jobs, and today when we are receiving them, it feels like my father is alive again,” said one of the beneficiaries with tears in her eyes.

Another appointee expressed gratitude, saying, “We knocked on every door for years, but no one helped us. Today, this support has given us new hope for the future.”

The immense suffering of these families and assured them of continued support from the administration. These families have endured pain and hardships in silence for decades. It is our moral duty to stand by them and provide them with justice, recognition, and meaningful rehabilitation.

This is part of a series of outreach initiatives for the next of kin of terror victims. Earlier, 40 appointment letters were distributed in Baramulla on July 13 and 80 families were provided jobs in Jammu on July 28.

The LG reiterated that the administration is determined to ensure dignity and secure livelihoods for those who bore the brunt of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
