Govt Orders Mandatory Attendance of Officers at Independence Day Functions in Srinagar, Jammu

Srinagar, July 30 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued a directive mandating all officers and officials stationed in Srinagar and Jammu to attend the main Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2025, at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar and Maulana Azad Stadium Jammu.

According to a circular issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), as per news agency JKNS, Independence Day is a significant national event, and it is the duty of every government servant to attend the celebrations.

“All officers/officials stationed at Srinagar/Jammu are enjoined upon to attend the main function of Independence Day Celebrations, 2025, as part of their official duty. Any absence shall only be permissible with prior permission from their immediate superior,” the circular reads.

The government has instructed all Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and Managing Directors of PSUs, Corporations, and Boards to ensure strict compliance and attendance of their subordinates at the respective venues. (JKNS)
