JLNM Hospital Setting New Benchmarks in Tertiary Care, Says Health Minister Sakina Itoo at Srinagar Conference

Srinagar, July 12 (JKNS): The JLNM Hospital in Srinagar marked a significant milestone on Saturday, hosting a conference-cum-workshop on allergy and immunology while celebrating its transformation into one of Kashmir’s leading tertiary care institutions.

Details available with news agency JKNS, the event was graced by Health and Education Minister Sakina Masood Itoo and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, who lauded the hospital’s advancements and dedication to patient care.

Speaking at the event, Minister Sakina Itoo said, “JLNM has emerged as one of the finest tertiary care setups in the Valley, and the credit goes to our dedicated doctors and hospital staff. Their tireless efforts are helping bring modern health services closer to the people.”

She further appreciated the hospital’s historical significance and emphasized the government’s continued commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in Srinagar. “We’re committed to modernizing JLNM and other healthcare facilities. The addition of new buildings and services is part of our long-term vision,” she added.

Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Mohammad Tariq Jaan, Allergy Specialist Dr. Taha Ashraf, Deputy MS Dr. Asifa Jaan, and Media Cell Incharge Aafaq Bashir thanked the minister for her sustained support and for ensuring that the hospital’s infrastructure was made fully functional for public service.

During the event, Minister Sakina Itoo also launched JLNM’s annual general and awards ceremony, felicitating several postgraduate researchers for their outstanding work in clinical science.

The workshop brought together specialists and researchers to discuss emerging trends in allergy and immunology. The event was seen as another step in JLNM’s journey toward becoming a centre of excellence in healthcare and research in Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
