Shopian, July 10 (JKNS): In a significant step towards healing and cultural revival, a Hawan Maha Yagya was organised on Thursday at Nadimarg village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, reviving memories and hope for the return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

The religious ceremony was attended by members of the Pandit community, local residents, and civil society members, symbolising a growing sentiment of reconciliation and peace.

Speaking on the occasion, former MLA Wachi Aijaz Ahmad Mir as per news agency JKNS said, “Kashmiri Pandits are an inseparable part of our cultural identity. Their return is not just a matter of policy but of restoring the spiritual and social soul of Kashmir.”

Mir also urged the administration to construct a Dharamshala at Nadimarg to facilitate future spiritual gatherings and assist returning families. “Such infrastructure will support religious events and reinforce Kashmir’s ethos of harmony and inclusiveness,” he added.

Locals and participants hailed the gathering as a step towards communal understanding and called for continued efforts to ensure safe and dignified return of all displaced families.

The Nadimarg village holds emotional significance for many, and Thursday’s Hawan was seen as a message of resilience and collective aspiration for a peaceful and united future. (JKNS)
