Organized under the aegis of the DSEK and School Leadership Academy (SLA), SCERT-JK – Kashmir Division, the programme seeks to strengthen instructional and administrative leadership in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. G.N. Itoo, Director School Education Kashmir, as chief guest, and was hosted by Syed Shabir Ahmad, Joint Director, SCERT-JK.

A significant highlight of the programme was the official release of the training module titled ‘Developing Institutional Plan’ by Director Dr. G.N. Itoo. Commending the School Leadership Academy for designing a comprehensive and actionable framework, Dr. Itoo urged the participating Heads of Institutions (HOI’s) to adopt structured and goal-oriented approaches to school planning and development.

Director also interacted with the trainees, encouraging them to lead with integrity, inclusivity, and innovation. Stressing their dual role as instructional and administrative leaders, he called on school heads to foster learner-centric environments, drive data-informed decision-making, and implement Institutional Development Plans with accountability and vision.

In his address, Syed Shabir Ahmad, JD SCERT, emphasized the phased rollout of the programme across all ten districts of Kashmir, and applauded the coordinators for curating a module that fosters leadership excellence and school improvement.

The induction programme represents a pivotal step towards institutionalizing leadership development at the grassroots level and reaffirms the commitment of DSEK and SCERT-JK to enhancing educational quality and governance across the region.
