Pulwama Admin Forms Inquiry Committee to Probe Alleged Medical Negligence in Woman’s Death

Pulwama, July 7 (JKNS): The District Magistrate Pulwama has constituted a high-level inquiry committee to investigate allegations of medical negligence following the death of Tayamusa Jan, wife of Mohammad Ayoub Dar, a resident of Armullah Litter.

According to the order, accessed by news agency JKNS, the committee has been formed to thoroughly examine the circumstances that led to the woman’s death and determine whether any breach of duty or lack of medical care contributed to the incident.

The committee comprises the following officers, with Assistant Commissioner Revenue (Additional District Magistrate), Pulwama as Chairman.

Tehsildar, Litter as Member. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters Pulwama as Member. Dr. Mohd Ayoub Bhat, Consultant Surgeon, District Hospital Pulwama as Member, it reads.

Dr. Liza Rafiq, Consultant Gynaecologist, District Hospital Pulwama as Member. Dr. Hanief, Anaesthetist, CHC Rajpora as Member, it reads.

The panel has been tasked with identifying any possible lapses in medical treatment or professional conduct and is expected to submit a detailed report along with its recommendations within a period of 15 days, order reads.

The formation of the committee comes after family members of the deceased raised serious concerns over the quality of care provided at the healthcare facility. The administration has assured that appropriate action will be taken based on the committee’s findings, reads the order. (JKNS)
