MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah Joins CII’s Tourism Revival Interaction as Chief Guest at Gulmarg Golf Club

Gulmarg: MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah, served as the Chief Guest at a high-level interaction program organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the Gulmarg Golf Club.
The event aimed to discuss strategies for the revival and sustainable development of tourism in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly focusing on Gulmarg. The program gathered various stakeholders from the local tourism sector, including representatives from the Hoteliers Association, Guide Association, and Pony Association, alongside members of the CII Executive Council, including Dr. M.A. Alim, Chairman of the CII Jammu & Kashmir Chapter. In his keynote address, Shah highlighted the critical role of tourism in Gulmarg’s economy and stressed the need for collective responsibility among stakeholders to transform Gulmarg into a year-round destination for both domestic and international tourists. Key discussions revolved around innovative outreach campaigns to attract visitors, enhancing infrastructure, improving service delivery, and creating immersive experiences for tourists. Shah commended CII for fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors and assured ongoing government support for such initiatives. The session concluded with a consensus on developing a coordinated strategy that involves all sectors to rejuvenate tourism in Gulmarg and elevate its status as a premier global destination.
