Medical Camp Organized at Sub-District Hospital Tangdhar: Seven Specialist Doctors Examine 152 Patients

July 01-2025, Karnah: A special outreach medical camp was held at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangdhar in Karnah area of district Kupwara. The camp was organized by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara in collaboration with the district administration. The primary aim of the camp was to provide specialist healthcare services to the people living in remote and underdeveloped areas.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Tangdhar, Dr. Arif Khawaja, said, “Karnah is one of the most backward regions of Kashmir and there is a dire need for specialist doctors here.” He informed that a team of specialist doctors was brought from Kupwara for this outreach camp, which included orthopedists, physicians, and experts from other fields a total of seven specialists.

Dr. Khawaja further mentioned that the camp was organized in response to public demand. During the camp today, 152 patients were examined, including 51 children. He added that the camp would continue tomorrow as well to benefit more patients.

The local public appreciated the initiative taken by the Health Department and district administration and demanded that such camps be organized regularly to help address the ongoing healthcare challenges in the region.
