“Public Safety First; No Bathing or Selfies Near Nallah Sindh”: Ganderbal Admin Imposes Blanket Ban

Order Cites High Risk Zones at Wayil, Mammer, Sonamarg; Strict Vigil Ordered to Prevent Accidents

Srinagar, June 27 (JKNS): To prevent accidents and safeguard lives, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) Ganderbal has imposed a complete ban on swimming, bathing, and taking selfies in and around Nallah Sindh, including high-risk areas such as Wayil, Mammer, Gagangeer, Hung, and Sonamarg.

As per an order issued by Addl. Deputy Commissioner (ADM), Ganderbal a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, In view of high risk of accidents and fatalities associated with Swimming, Bathing & taking Selfies in & around Nallah Sindh, a complete ban is imposed on Swimming, Bathing & taking Selfies in and around Nallah Sindh including places viz. around Arch Truss Bridge Wayil, Mammer, Gagangeer, Hung & Sonamarg.

Those areas pose significant safety risks due to strong currents, deep waters, or other hazards. The han sims to prevent accidents and ensure public safety, it reads. This ban is effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice.

The Tehsildars( Executive Magistratos), SHOs & Jalshakti(I&FC) shall iwep strict vigil in their respective areas of jurisdictions for implementation of the order in letter & spirit, order reads.

The public is requested to cooperate with the authorities in enforcing this ban to ensure safety. Failure to comply shall invite punitive action under rules in vogue, reads the order. (JKNS)
