Srinagar : Series of events highlighting the many benefits of practicing yoga marked the observance of 11th International Day of Yoga Saturday on June 21st across all the districts of Kashmir.
This year the day was celebrated on the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, which echoes a vital truth that personal wellness and planetary health are inseparably linked.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioners, other officers and officials besides youth, students and public were seen performing yoga during symbolic yoga sessions across Kashmir division.

At Baramulla, In a remarkable display of unity, wellness, and collective harmony, Baramulla district celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm at Showkat Ali Stadium. The event witnessed the participation of approximately 1300 individuals, including officers, officials, students, and local citizens. The celebration commenced with participants listening to the live-streamed address of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi from Visakhapatnam, broadcast on a large screen at the venue. The event was attended by DIG North Kashmir Range, Maqsood-ul-Zamaan; Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, and other senior officers from the civil, police and CRPF administration Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner highlighted the widespread observance of the day. “Yoga sessions are being conducted across the district to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Make yoga a part of your daily routine—it benefits both body and mind. We have trained yoga instructors and Physical Education teachers guiding these sessions in various institutions,” he said. The gathering actively participated in guided yoga sessions, which included live demonstrations of asanas and breathing techniques led by trained instructors.

At Anantnag, the 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and widespread participation across district Anantnag with the main event organized by the department of AYUSH in collaboration with the district administration at Shaheed Himayun Muzzamil Government Degree College (Boys), Anantnag. The celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, local residents and officials from various departments, including Health, Youth Services & Sports, Education, NCC, and several degree colleges. The main function was marked by a large turnout and a vibrant display of unity, discipline, and wellness through yoga practices. Participants collectively performed a series of asanas and breathing exercises, underscoring the significance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional stability. The event was graced by the presence of officers from civil administration led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid and Additional Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh Bali and from Police by DIG South Kashmir Javid Iqbal Matoo, SSP Anantnag Amrit Pal Singh and other senior officers such as Chief Education Officer, District AYUSH Officer and other sectoral officers. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid highlighted the transformative power of yoga and its relevance in contemporary life, especially in maintaining a holistic lifestyle. Yoga sessions were held simultaneously at multiple locations across the district, with active involvement from educational institutions, government officials and members of the general public. The observance of the day in Anantnag emphasized the need to incorporate yoga into daily routines to foster better health, inner peace, and overall well-being.

At Budgam, the main district-level International Yoga Day 2025 function was organized at Sports Stadium Budgam, where a large number of school children, youth, and public officials participated in a vibrant Yoga session. The event was jointly organised by the district administration Budgam, in collaboration with the department of Ayush Budgam, District Youth Services & Sports, School Education department Budgam, Nehru Yuva Kendra Budgam, and the Information & Public Relations department Budgam. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, was the chief guest on the occasion. Other prominent participants included Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Chief Planning Officer, Programme Officer ICDS, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, and officials from various other departments of the district. The event witnessed a series of Yoga demonstrations by Yoga instructors, symbolizing discipline, balance, and the harmony between body and mind. Speaking on the occasion, DC underlined the relevance of Yoga in daily life. He remarked, “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self. On this Yoga Day, let’s reconnect with our inner peace, balance, and unity with the world.” He emphasized that Yoga is a powerful tool for holistic development—benefitting not just physical health but also improving mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. He further stated that Yoga promotes calmness, reduces stress, and enhances focus, making it especially relevant in Saturday’s fast-paced world. Similar Yoga Day programs were held in the subdivisions of Khansahib, Beerwah, and Chadoora, as well as in various educational institutions throughout the district, ensuring widespread celebration and public involvement.

At Ganderbal, A series of vibrant events were held across Ganderbal district Saturday to mark the celebration of the 11th International Day of Yoga–2025, aimed at spreading awareness about the numerous benefits of yoga and promoting its adoption worldwide. The main event was held at Government College of Physical Education (GCoPE), Gadoora Ganderbal which was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore along with SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat and other district officers. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth and students from various schools as well as the general public in large numbers. On the occasion, DC, other officers and officials besides youth, students and public participated in the yoga demonstrations held across the district. Speaking on the occasion, DC emphasized the global significance of yoga as a path to health and wellness. He underlined the importance of integrating yoga into daily routines for physical and mental well-being. Instructors educated participants about the benefits of yoga, emphasizing that yoga is an invaluable gift from the ancient Indian tradition. They highlighted yoga’s role in promoting physical development, mental relaxation, and the enhancement of strength, flexibility, and immunity. In addition to the main event, parallel yoga sessions were also organized at Sonamarg and Manasbal, drawing a large number of enthusiastic participants and reinforcing the district’s commitment to promoting a healthier lifestyle through yoga.

At Pulwama, District Administration Pulwama, in collaboration with the District Ayush Office Pulwama, Education department and the department of Youth Services and Sports Pulwama, Saturday organised a mega yoga session at the Hockey Turf, Chatapora Pulwama to mark the 11th International Yoga Day. Attendees on the occasion joined the Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually in the celebration of Yoga Day. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom highlighted the significance of yoga in promoting holistic health. He further urged the residents of Pulwama to incorporate daily yoga practice into their routines for improved physical and mental health and utilise services of AYUSH and Health departments. The session was also attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama; Chief Education Officer Pulwama; Assistant Commissioner Development, Pulwama; District Ayush Officer, Pulwama; various district officers and officials of different departments, while students and local youth in large numbers also participated enthusiastically in the session. On the similar lines, a mega session was organised at the iconic heritage site Avantiswami Temple, Awantipora which witnessed the participation of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Awantipora; Superintendent of Police, Awantipora, officials of various departments, students, locals and mountaineer Ram Singh Slathia. Similarly, yoga sessions were held across various panchayats, Amrit Sarovars, educational institutions including schools and colleges, as well as at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs throughout the district, promoting awareness about the importance of yoga and encouraging its adoption as a daily practice among people of all age groups.

At Kulgam, International Yoga Day-2025 was celebrated across district Kulgam with the main function held at the lawns of the mini-secretariat, Kulgam. A mega event was held at Mini-Secretariat where Chairperson DDC Kulgam, M Afzal Parrey; Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan joined the yoga session. A large number of locals, officers and officials of various departments, students of various schools/institutions also participated in the Yoga sessions. On the occasion participants performed different Yoga Asanas and were also briefed about the benefits of yoga which is a great practice for both the body and mind. Yoga sessions were also held at schools, colleges and other institutions in the district.

At Shopian, the main event in connection with International Yoga Day was organized at Mini-Secretariat Shopian where a large number of participants from various departments, educational institutions, civil society groups and the general public took part in the yoga session. The event commenced with a mass yoga demonstration as per the common yoga protocol, guided by trained instructors from the department of AYU Similar programmes were held at sub-division, tehsil and block levels across the district, ensuring wide participation from all sections of society. The sessions were also held in GDC Shopian, GDC Zainapora, Higher secondary school of the district along with the Ayush and Wellness centres. The celebrations aimed to spread awareness about the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and fostering harmony among individuals and communities. The event featured a mass yoga session promoting physical and mental well-being. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta; ADC, Dr.Zakir Husain; ACR, Shakoor Ahmad Dar and other district and sectoral officers participated in the celebration and performed various yoga asanas along with the participants.

At Kupwara, International Day of Yoga was celebrated across district Kupwara with events held across multiple venues in the district, reflecting the growing awareness and commitment to a healthy lifestyle through yoga. The main event was organized at Government Degree College Kupwara, where hundreds of participants, including school children, government officials, health workers, security personnel, and yoga enthusiasts, performed common yoga protocol as guided by trained instructors. The session was led by expert yoga trainers, who emphasized the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of regular yoga practice. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan was the chief guest on the occasion. DC along with SSP Kupwara, Gulam Jeelani; ADDC, Mufti Fareed-ud-Din, ADC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad; ACR, CPO and other District and Sectoral Officers participated in the main Yoga event. A major Yoga event was also witnessed at GDC Handwara in which hundreds of people including officers, students and locals took part actively in the event. ADC Handwara, Javid Naseem Masoodi presided over the event. Similar yoga sessions were held simultaneously at tehsil headquarters, educational institutions, and health centers across the district, ensuring widespread participation. Awareness campaigns, poster exhibitions, and motivational talks were also part of the celebrations.

At Bandipora, district administration Bandipora organized enthusiastic celebrations to mark the International Yoga Day across the district, with the main events held at S.K. Stadium Bandipora and Wullar Vantage Park, Garoora. The occasion witnessed massive participation from students, government officials, volunteers, and the general public. At S.K. Stadium Bandipora, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Harmeet Singh Mehta, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl attended the event and participated in the mass yoga session, joining hundreds of citizens in observing the day. The events were marked by a collective yoga demonstration and the live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address, streamed at both venues, providing participants the opportunity to virtually join the nationwide observance of International Yoga Day. During the session, yoga instructors briefed participants on the health benefits of yoga and encouraged them to make it a regular part of their daily lives. He emphasized the role of yoga in reducing stress, improving focus, and achieving a more peaceful and harmonious lifestyle. In addition to the main events, International Yoga Day was also celebrated at several educational institutions, Sports Stadiums across the district, including HKM Government Degree College (GDC) Bandipora, GDC Hajin, GDC Gurez, and Sports Stadium Dawar, Gurez.

GDC Tangdhar celebrates Int’l Yoga Day
Kupwara : Government Degree College (GDC) Tangdhar celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 in its campus Saturday, highlighting the transformative power of yoga for physical and mental well-being.
The programme was organised in collaboration with 3 J&K Bn NCC Baramulla, 7 J&K Bn NCC Kupwara, BHSS Kandi Karnah, BHS Tangdhar, department of Youth Services and Sports (Tangdhar/Chamkote), department of AYUSH Kupwara, and the administration Karnah.
During the event, participants were guided through an invigorating yoga session by three experienced instructors from the department of Youth Services & Sports and the department of AYU
Dr. Arshid Iqbal, Medical Officer, Department of AYUSH, supervised the yoga session and said, “Yoga is immensely beneficial for everyone, it improves flexibility, strengthens immunity, reduces stress, and promotes a positive outlook. I urge everyone to make yoga a daily habit for a healthier, happier life.”
The celebration saw active participation from college faculty, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, and students, all demonstrating unity and discipline in appropriate yoga attire.
Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, Principal of GDC Tangdhar, appreciated the enthusiastic response and highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for a balanced, stress-free, and healthy lifestyle.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to practice yoga regularly and spread its benefits in the community, making this year’s celebration a meaningful step towards a healthier Karnah.

Poonch : The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at the Indoor Sports Hall, Sports Stadium Poonch, under the global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
Marking the occasion, participants joined in watching the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who led the national celebrations from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Prade
Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal led the district-level celebrations by joining the Yoga Session along with officers of the district administration, police personnel, students, sports enthusiasts and members of the civil society.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged people to make yoga a regular part of their life, stating, “Yoga helps in building immunity, reducing stress and ensuring physical and mental wellness.”
The yoga session was conducted by qualified instructors Sanjana Sharma and Imtiaz Ahmed, supported by Master Trainers Dr. Vimal Sharma and Dr. Benazir Yousuf. The trainers led participants through a series of postures and breathing exercises focused on improving digestion, boosting energy levels and enhancing mental clarity.
The event proceedings were ably anchored by Dr. Khaleeq Anjum, who ensured seamless coordination throughout the programme.
Speaking at the event, District AYUSH Officer Dr. Sanjay Raina urged citizens to adopt yoga to strengthen the mind, intellect and overall resilience of the body.

Reasi Admin celebrates Int’l Yoga Day 2025 with series of events
Reasi : The District Administration Reasi, in collaboration with the AYUSH Department, celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 with great enthusiasm across the district to promote its integration into daily life to enhance individual well-being and foster a harmonious relationship with the environment as envisaged in this year’s global theme- “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
The highlight of the day was a special yoga session held at the ViewPoint of the iconic Chenab Rail Bridge- the world’s highest railway bridge.
The main event was held at the Indoor Sports Stadium, where a large number of citizens participated in a yoga session in presence of DDC Chairman Saraf Singh Nag; Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik; SSP Paramvir Singh; SSP IRP 1st Battalion Anita Sharma; ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samyal; ADC Rakesh Kumar and other government functionaries.

Earlier, Nodal officer Ayush Dr Kamal Kishore Dubey welcomed all the dignitaries.
Meanwhile, parallel yoga sessions were organized at the Shrine Board Stadium in Katra and Helipad Mahore subdivision. The schools and colleges also held yoga sessions engaging students and spreading awareness of the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga.

11th Int’l Day of Yoga celebrated in Samba with great enthusiasm
Samba : The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm in District Samba Saturday. The event, themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” was organized by the Department of AYUSH in collaboration with the District Administration Samba under the banner “Yoga Sangam” at Rani Suchet Singh Indoor Stadium, Samba.
The event was held under the esteemed guidance and directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma and Director AYUSH J&K, Dr. Nuzhat Bashir Shah, and was meticulously supervised by District Nodal Officer AYUSH Dr. Renu Dass.
The celebration was graced by Chairman District Development Council Keshav Dutt Sharma, and MLA Samba, Surjeet Singh Slathia, as the honorary guests.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Medical Officer AHWC Gho Brahmna Dr. Rozy, followed by a collective demonstration of Common Yoga Protocol led by expert yoga instructors. The session saw active and enthusiastic participation from officials, dignitaries and the general public alike.
As a gesture of goodwill and to promote Ayurveda-based health practices, the dignitaries present were felicitated with medicinal planters by the Department of Ayush Samba.

Kathua celebrates 11th Int’l Day of Yoga amid overwhelming public participation
Kathua : The 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025 was celebrated amid great fervour and enthusiastic public participation across the district of Kathua. The main event was organised at the Sports Stadium by the District Administration in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH and other allied departments.
The venue witnessed a massive turnout of people from all walks of life who gathered in the wee hours, braving intermittent rain showers to take part in the yoga session.
The mega yoga session was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas, and attended by DDC Chairman Col (Retd.) Mahan Singh and MLA Kathua Dr Bharat Bhushan, besides Vice Chairman DDC Raghunandan Singh, DDC Marheen Karan Attri and DDC Nagri Sandeep Majotra.
In his address, Dr. Minhas highlighted the importance of adopting yoga as a daily practice to achieve physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. He appreciated the enthusiasm of participants who defied the weather to join the celebration.
The yoga session commenced at 6:00 AM with a structured demonstration of the Common Yoga Protocol led by expert instructors from the AYUSH Department. The instructors guided the crowd through a series of yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation techniques. The participants, comprising students, officials, police personnel and members of civil society, followed the session with energy and dedication.
At the culmination of the event, a collective Sankalp (pledge) was taken by all participants to integrate yoga into their daily lifestyle. As a token of appreciation, yoga instructors were felicitated by the dignitaries for their exemplary contribution to the success of the event.
Alongside the district-level celebration, International Day of Yoga was also observed with similar zeal in all sub-divisions of Basohli, Billawar, Hiranagar and Bani.
At Basohli, local MLA Darshan Singh, ADC Pankaj Bhagotra and a large number of locals, students and officials participated in the yoga session, reflecting a growing public awareness towards health and wellness. The event in Billawar also witnessed a spirited turnout, with participants performing yoga postures in unison, underlining the collective commitment to fitness and inner balance.
The event witnessed participation of MLA Billawar Satish Sharma, DDC Billawar Bikram Singh, officers from Administration and a large number of people.
At Hiranagar, the main event was held at KV Hiranagar where SDM Phulail Singh and a large number of people participated in the spirited Yoga session.
In the serene and hilly sub-division of Bani, the event attracted significant local participation. Amid the cool morning breeze, the community led by MLA Bani Dr Rameshwar Singh, SDM Bani Sandeep Kumar came together to perform yoga, making the celebration both peaceful and vibrant.

DLSA Udhampur organises yoga session to mark Int’l Day of Yoga
Udhampur : District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Udhampur, under the guidance and supervision of Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman DLSA) Virinder Singh Bhou and Secretary DLSA Dr. Smriti Sharma, celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm at the District Court Complex.
The program saw active participation from the judicial officers, Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADCs), Panel Lawyers, judicial staff and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs).
The program commenced with an introduction to the significance and benefits of yoga, delivered by Adv. Sanjeet Kumar, Panel Lawyer.
The celebration aimed to promote physical and mental well-being among participants aligning with this year’s global theme- “Yoga For One Earth, One Health.”
The yoga session was expertly conducted by Dr. Makhan Lal Gupta and Ashok Abrol, the Yoga instructors from Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, Udhampur.
The participants practiced Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Chakra-asana (Wheel Posture), Anjaneya-asana (Bow Moon Pose) Ardhachandra-asana (Half-Moon Pose), Baum Position (Vrksasana), Herabschauender Hund (Adho Mukha Svanasana), etc. Similar programs were held at TLSCs Ramnagar, Majalta and Chenani

GCW Parade celebrates Int’l Yoga Day with 10-Day Wellness Program
Jammu : To mark the 11th World Yoga Day celebration, the Government College for Women (GCW), Parade Ground, in collaboration with the Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu, successfully organized a comprehensive 10-day wellness program from June 12 to June 21, 2025, highlighting the multifaceted benefits of yoga and its relevance in modern life.
The celebration commenced with a vibrant Inaugural Ceremony on June 13, graced by the Principal of the college, Dr Ravender Kumar Tickoo as the Chief Guest. A keynote address titled “Yoga: India’s Gift to the World” by Dr Arun Gupta, Medical Officer was followed by a demonstration of basic asanas and Surya Namaskar. Health guidelines and a full workshop schedule were distributed to participants.
Each day of the event was themed to explore various dimensions of yogic practice.
The 10 day wellness program ended Saturday with a mass yoga session attended by NSS volunteers, students and faculty of the college amid live streaming of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the Yoga Sangam event and a valedictory address by the Principal of the college, Dr Ravender Kumar Tickoo.
The Principal praised the initiative of the organisers and the enthusiastic participation by students, NSS volunteers, faculty and local community members. He emphasized yoga’s role in personal well-being, environmental consciousness and holistic education.
Dr Arun, Dr Neha Chib, Medical Officers, Dr Neelam, Senior Yoga Instructor, Dr Mamta and Dr Sukhmeet were the resource persons from Ayurvedic Medical College, Jammu.
The media partner of the event was FM Tadka and presence of RJ Nitish throughout the event boosted the efforts of NSS volunteers in creating awareness about Yoga and its benefits in the society.

Fervor, gaiety mark 11th Int’l Yoga Day celebration across Kishtwar Distt
Kishtwar : The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with immense zeal and festive spirit across District Kishtwar under the global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
The district-level event was organized on the historic Chowgan Grounds witnessing overwhelming participation from over 2,500 individuals representing all age groups and diverse walks of life.
Senior citizens, women, children, government officials, prominent citizens, and students from local schools gathered at the venue reflecting a shared commitment to embracing yoga as a holistic path to physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Local MLA Shagun Parihar, Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma, SSP Naresh Singh, ADC Pawan Kumar Kotwal ACR Idrees lone besides other district and Sectoral Officers from the Civil Administration, Police, CRPF and other Paramilitary Forces were part of the event.
A live yoga demonstration was skillfully performed by professional instructors from the AYUSH Department, showcasing various asanas and highlighting the transformative power of yoga.
In addition to the main event, Yoga Day was celebrated simultaneously in all educational institutions, Anganwadi Centres and AYUSH Wellness Centres across the district.
Similar programs were also held at the Sub-Divisional level at Chatroo, Paddar and Marwah, as well as at Tehsil and Block headquarters, ensuring district-wide engagement and participation in the global celebration of yoga.
The district administration appreciated the collective efforts of all departments and participants for making the celebration a resounding success, reinforcing the message of unity, wellness and harmony through yoga.

Doda: The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great excitement and energy across District Doda, with the main event held at the picturesque Gatha Park in Bhaderwah.
More than 2600 people, including school students, government officials, senior citizens, NCC cadets, PRI members and differently-abled persons joined the event in presence of the Chief Guest DDC Chairman, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, Guest of Honour Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh and dozens of government functionaries. The event began with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a refreshing yoga session led by well-known Yoga Expert Acharya Anil.
One of the most special parts of the event was the active participation of differently-abled people and senior citizens in the “Yog Samavesh” session, showing that yoga is for everyone.
A tree plantation drive themed “Harit Yoga” was also launched by the chief guest to spread the message of health and a clean environment. Along with this, a cleanliness drive was held near water bodies and nearby areas to promote hygiene and care for nature.
To make the event more fun for children, a painting competition on the theme of yoga was organized. A “Yoga Unplugged Zone” was also set up for the youth, encouraging them to connect with yoga in a creative way.
The yoga demonstrations were led by yoga trainers Anil Yogi, Nidhi Padha (Yoga Therapist), Faizan Ul Haq, Sajawal, Kame Kumar and Nawaz, helping people learn correct techniques.
Yoga Day was also celebrated at many other places in the district, such as Doda Town, Thathri, Lal Draman, Government Degree Colleges of Doda and Bhaderwah and in all government schools.
The programs were held under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar Tikoo, District AYUSH Officer Doda and coordinated by Dr. Manjit Singh (Medical Officer) and the Ayush Department team.

Wildlife Protection, FPF coordinate to celebrate 11th Int’l Day of Yoga
Jammu: Forest Protection Force (FPF) along with Department of Wildlife Protection celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga at former Gamma Unit, Sidhra. The officers and field staff of both departments enthusiastically participated in the event.
The PCCF/Director Forest Protection Force & Chief Wildlife Warden addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life.
Participants performed various yoga asanas under the guidance of a professional yoga instructor. At the conclusion of the session, they were encouraged to adopt yoga as a regular practice for physical, mental and spiritual fitness.
Besides, the programme is expected to encourage joint and coordinated working of both departments to effectively manage human-wild animal conflict and other protection related issues.

Int’l Yoga Day observed across Ramban Distt to promote “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”
Ramban: In tune with the rest of the nation and the world, the District Administration Ramban, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm across the district.
Themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the day was observed as a festival of health and wellness, drawing participants from all walks of life.
DIG DKR Range Shridhar Patil, SSP Kulbir Singh, ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, senior officers, members of civil society, youth and other prominent citizens actively participated in the district-level celebration held at the District Administrative Complex, in collaboration with the Department of AYU
Over 1200 individuals including senior citizens, school children, women, and officials took part in the event.
The celebrations extended beyond the district headquarters to sub-division and tehsil levels in Gool, Banihal, Ramsoo, Ukhral, Pogal-Paristan, Batote, Rajgarh, Khari and other areas. Officials including SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb, SDM Gool Imtiaz Ahmed, Tehsildars and others actively led and participated in the yoga sessions at their respective locations.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan lauded the efforts of all departments and participants for making the 11th International Yoga Day a grand success. He emphasized the need to integrate yoga into daily routine to foster holistic well-being and a stress-free lifestyle.
The yoga session at the district headquarters was coordinated by District Nodal Officer Yoga, Dr. Masood Iqbal Zargar, assisted by yoga experts Dilar Singh and Santosh Chib.

DLSA Jammu hosts yoga session cum awareness program to mark 11th Int’l Day of Yoga
Jammu: District Legal Services Authority Jammu, under the guidance of Chairman, Y. P. Bourney, (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge), commemorated the 11th International Day of Yoga by organising a yoga session cum awareness program here in the Lawyers’ Chamber Conference Hall, District Court Complex.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Ritesh Dubey, Additional District and Sessions Judge & Dr. Smriti Sharma, Secretary District Legal Services Authority.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Judicial Officers, LADCs, Panel Lawyers, PLVs and court staff, who gathered early in the morning to participate in the yoga session led by certified instructors from the Art of Living.
The event focused on this year’s theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” emphasizing the importance of yoga in achieving holistic health. The yoga session was expertly conducted by Professor and State Coordinator (STC), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh of Art of Living Trust, Rajan Salalia, along with two subordinates.
The session included guided breathing exercises (Pranayama), yoga postures (Asanas) and meditation, promoting physical health, mental clarity and emotional well-being. This joint initiative aimed to create awareness about the preventive and therapeutic benefits of yoga, especially in Saturday’s fast-paced lifestyle.
Similar Programmes were also organized by TLSC Bishnah, TLSC R. S. Pura and TLSC Akhnoor in their respective areas.

11th Int’l Yoga Day celebrated at GDC Ramkote
Kathua: Government Degree College Ramkote celebrated 11th International Yoga Day amid enthusiastic participation of students, faculty and staff. The event was organized under the overall guidance of the college Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul.
The celebration started with collective chanting of Om Mantra and an address by the Principal. He talked about the benefits of practicing Yoga and shared his experience and wisdom about this ancient practice of gaining overall well being.
The session was moderated by Prof. Suresh Chander who guided participants in performing yoga poses like vrikshasana, bhujangasana, tadasana, anulom vilom, dhyana and bhramri.
The event was organized by Prof. Anu Sharma, NSS PO and Prof. Suresh Chander, Convener NSS Committee, Krishan Singh, Assistant Library and Anukush Kundral.

DLSA Ramban celebrates 11th Int’l Yoga Day
Ramban: District Legal Services Authority, Ramban Saturday celebrated 11th International Yoga Day by organizing a Yoga Session in collaboration with Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School. The program was held under the guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Deepak Sethi.
The Yoga session was attended by all the judicial officers of district Ramban along with the staff and Para Legal Volunteers, besides the students and staff of the school. The yoga session was conducted by the yoga teachers. Yoga sessions were also organised at other courts of the district Ramban.
The yoga experts spoke about the countless benefits of Yoga for body, mind and soul while demonstrating different ‘YOG AASANAS’.
They also deliberated upon how Yoga promotes self-healing, enhances self awareness, helps in attainment of equilibrium and harmony and much more.
In his address, the Principal District & Sessions Judge highlighted the importance of yoga and physical exercises for human health.

J&K Resident Commission observes Int’l Yoga Day
New Delhi: The Jammu & Kashmir Resident Commission, New Delhi, observed the International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and huge participation.
Dr. Jyotsana Mukhi, Incharge AYUSH Dispensary, highlighted the significance of celebrating this crucial Day for leading a peaceful and spiritually enriched life.
Yoga Instructor, Priya Choudhary and the Yoga Demonstrator, Ritik Kumar conducted the session efficiently. A structured yoga session was conducted under their expert guidance, comprising various asanas, breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation techniques. The session focused on promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being through the principles and practice of Yoga.
Lastly, Anil Sharma, Additional Resident Commissioner, reiterated the importance of integrating yoga into daily life to enhance overall wellness.
The event witnessed active participation from officers and staff of the Resident Commission and served to reinforce the universal message of harmony and health embodied by Yoga.

DLSA Kathua celebrates Int’l Yoga Day
Kathua : Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, J&K Legal Services Authority and under the esteemed guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Kathua Jatinder Singh Jamwal (Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kathua), DLSA Kathua celebrated International Yoga Day Saturday.
The programme was organised by the Secretary/Sub-Judge DLSA Kamiya Singh Andotra which began with a series of yoga sessions aiming at promoting holistic health and mental well-being. The main event was organised at the District Court Complex where Judicial Officers, Advocates, staff members and PLVs actively participated.
Trained Yoga Instructors and Medical Officers led the session, guiding attendees through various asanas and breathing techniques.
In a broader outreach initiative, PLVs also conducted yoga sessions at various Legal Aid Clinics including Old Age home, Palash, Parisha, One Stop Centre, District Jail Kathua, Police Stations/Police Posts of District Kathua. This year marks 11h International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, which echoes that personal wellness and planetary earth are inseparably linked. In caring for ourselves we began to care for the earth. ‎

Int’l Day of Yoga 2025: Yoga session held at Distt Jail Bhaderwa
Bhaderwah : To commemorate the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), two special events were organized here to promote the physical and mental benefits of yoga among the public.
At the District Jail Bhaderwah, a yoga session was conducted for 129 jail inmates.
The event was graced by the presence of Principal District and Sessions Judge Balbir Lal Jaiswal, Secretary DLSA Tabrez Ahmed and Superintendent of District Jail Hameed-Ullah Naik.
The demonstration was led by Nidhi Padha, a certified Yoga Therapist and Faizan Ul Haq, Yoga Instructor.
The dignitaries appreciated the initiative for its focus on the rehabilitation and well-being of inmates.
Meanwhile, another yoga session was held at the Gurukul Institute of Paramedical Courses, where 39 participants took part in a guided yoga demonstration conducted by Faizan Ul Haq, Yoga Instructor from Ayush Health and Wellness Centre, Drudhu. The session aimed to create awareness about the holistic health benefits of yoga among students and staff.
Both events reflected the commitment of local institutions and the District Administration towards promoting a healthier lifestyle through yoga, fostering peace, discipline and mental well-being among all age groups.

11th Int‘l Yoga Day celebrated with zeal across Distt Doda schools
Doda : In a remarkable display of unity, discipline, and unwavering commitment to health and wellness, the 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with immense fervor across all government and private schools in District Doda.
The district-wide celebrations, a testament to collective spirit, were meticulously organized under the expert guidance of the District Development Commissioner, Harvinder Singh and the supervision of the Chief Education Officer Mohammad Hafiz.
The initiative saw a massive outpouring of participation from Students, Teachers, NSS volunteers and members of the civil society, transforming every school campus into a vibrant space brimming with synchronized yoga postures and mindful breathing exercises.
Special yoga sessions were conducted in both rural and urban schools, where trained instructors and dedicated physical education teachers skillfully led students through a series of Asanas, pranayama and meditation. The primary focus remained on amplifying awareness about the profound physical, mental and spiritual benefits of integrating yoga into daily life.
Adding to the grandeur, the District Administration Doda orchestrated key events at picturesque locations like the Lake View Resort Gatha Bhaderwah and Lal Draman, Sazan. Here, students delivered captivating group yoga demonstrations, showcased mesmerizing yoga-themed dances and presented eloquent speeches underscoring the global significance of this ancient Indian practice.
District Development Commissioner Harvinder Singh commended the Department of School Education Doda for its effective mobilization of youth and their dedication to promoting a culture of wellness, harmony and inner peace. He highlighted that these efforts were perfectly aligned with this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
The impactful event culminated with a heartfelt pledge by all participants to embrace yoga as a daily practice and to proactively spread its transformative message throughout their communities.

GDC Kastigarh celebrates 11th Int’l Yoga Day
Doda : Govt. Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and active participation. Aligning with this year’s theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” the event was organized under the guidance of the college Principal, Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra. The celebration began with a peaceful serenity prayer led by Dr. Anupam Lata, creating a spiritual atmosphere for the session.
Principal Prof. Mangotra addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of celebrating International Yoga Day.
Students and staff members actively performed various yoga asanas and pranayama under the supervision of Dr. Arjun Singh, PTI of the college. Dr. Arjun also addressed the audience and elaborated on the importance of incorporating yoga into daily routines for holistic well-being.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anupam Lata. Several faculty members including Assistant Prof. Sat Pal, Manmohan, Sachin Thakur, Gulam Qadir and others contributed to the success of the event.

Excise & Taxation Training Institute Nagrota celebrates Int’l Yoga Day
Jammu : To mark the International Yoga Day, a grand event on the theme ‘ ONE EARTH, ONE HEALTH ‘ was organized in the campus of Excise and Taxation Training Institute Nagrota Saturday.
The yoga session was attended by the staff members and the senior officers of the department including Excise Commissioner Subash Chander Chibber, all the Deputy Excise Commissioners and Excise & Taxation Officers.
The event was organized in collaboration with Heartfulness Institute. Sourabh Sharma and Puran Singh Manhas along with their team were present as resource persons/trainers for the yoga event.
The one-hour yoga session started with a small introduction on yoga by the resource persons followed by practicing of key asanas and a meditation session.
The Excise Commissioner, J&K urged the staff members to incorporate yoga in their daily life as a healthy individual can better contribute to the nation and society.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Deputy Excise Commissioner (Accounts), J&K, Jammu Tinna Mahajan with additional charge of Principal Training Institute Nagrota and presentation of mementos to the members of the Heartfulness Organization by the Excise Commissioner and Deputy Excise Commissioners.
