Srinagar: Secretary, Information Technology, Dr. Piyush Singla, Wednesday chaired a meeting to review implementation and progress on various projects in the IT Department.
Pertinently, the e-Office 2.0 rollout marks a major stride towards paperless governance. It has brought over 480 Administrative Departments, HoDs and DC offices besides state universities such as the University of Jammu, University of Kashmir, SMVDU, BGSBU and SKUAST-Jammu under a unified digital umbrella, with more than 30,000 active users and 4000+ VPN-enabled users.
The Secretary appreciated the successful implementation of e-Office 2.0 across the administrative units in the Union Territory. He emphasized the role of e-Office 2.0 in enhancing transparency, efficiency and accountability in government operations. He appreciated the department’s forward-looking roadmap to scale up this digital transformation to block and tehsil level, with a projected user base exceeding 25,000 new users.
He also commended the efforts of the IT Department in building capacity through regular training sessions, infrastructure modernization and handholding support to various departments, making Jammu & Kashmir one of the leading UTs in e-Governance adoption. The review highlighted progress on related initiatives such as the Digital Jammu & Kashmir Mission, Mobile Dost App, Auto-Appeal System and over 1212 e-services integrated under the e-UNNAT unified platform.
The IT Department reaffirmed its commitment towards strengthening the digital backbone of governance, ensuring last-mile service delivery through robust infrastructure, skilled manpower and citizen-centric innovations.
