Seven GCW MA Road Cadets Shine Nationally with NCC ‘C’ Certificate Honours

Srinagar: Government College for Women (GCW), MA Road Srinagar, celebrated the outstanding achievement of seven of its NCC cadets who have been awarded the prestigious “C” Certificate following the nationwide NCC examination held on February 16, 2025.

Details available with news agency JKNS stated that among the awardees, Junior Under Officer (JUO) Shabnum Mushtaq and Cadet Sania Nazir secured the top Alpha Grade. Senior Under Officer (SUO) Musadiq Razaq, JUO Tabish Ashraf, and JUO Stanzin Chuskit earned the Bravo Grade, while Corporal Jameela Yaqoob and Cadet Samreena Ishtaq were placed in the Charlie Grade.

Cadet Sania Nazir, a Management student, earned distinction for her participation in the All India Mountaineering Expedition to Mount Kang Yatse-II in Leh, Ladakh in 2024. SUO Musadiq Razaq, a Zoology student, represented J&K in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2024 cultural contingent in Delhi and competed in the Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship 2024 held in Tamil Nadu.

All seven cadets have participated in a wide range of national camps and training programs. These include Basic Mountaineering and Rock Climbing Courses, Special Skiing Camps, National Integration Camps, Medical and Health Awareness Drives, Annual Training Camps, and multiple community development activities under the NCC banner, it stated.

Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Farooq, Principal of GCW MA Road, congratulated the cadets as per JKNS said, “I am incredibly proud of our cadets for their hard-earned success. Their dedication and commitment to NCC values reflect the discipline and leadership we strive to instill at our college. I wish them great success in their future pursuits.”

Associate NCC Officer Lt. Dr. Eshrat Ara also appreciated the cadets’ performance, said, “These students have truly set an example with their teamwork and perseverance. Their success is a reflection of their hard work and the collective support they received. I feel proud to have guided them.”

The achievement of these cadets marks a milestone for GCW MA Road and shows the institution’s growing reputation for producing committed, disciplined, and nationally recognised student leaders under the NCC program.

The college administration congratulated all seven cadets and expressed confidence in their continued success in both academic and leadership roles in the future. (JKNS)
