Newly Formed J&K Bar Body Meets LG Sinha, Seeks Better Facilities and Welfare for Lawyers

Srinagar, June 12, 2025 – The newly constituted body of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Srinagar Kashmir (Regd) / Kashmir Advocates’ Association, led by its President Advocate Waseem Gul, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhavan, Srinagar, today. The delegation engaged in a productive discussion regarding critical issues pertaining to the welfare of lawyers in the region. The delegation included Adv Farooq Ahmad Ganie Vice President, Adv Adil Muneer Andrabi General Secretary, Adv Zarin Joint Secretary, Adv Zaman Irshad Parray Treasurer, Adv Surat Shakeel Coordinator and Adv Adil Parray Executive Member.

During the meeting, delegation presented the concerns and aspirations of the legal fraternity, emphasizing the need for enhanced support and resources to strengthen the legal ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation highlighted various challenges faced by lawyers, including infrastructure improvements, professional development opportunities, and other welfare measures essential for the effective functioning of the legal community.

The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor attentively listened to the issues raised by the association and assured the delegation that all genuine concerns would be addressed in a time-bound manner. Expressing gratitude for the Lieutenant Governor’s positive response, Advocate Waseem Gul stated, “We are optimistic about the administration’s commitment to resolving our concerns. This meeting marks a significant step toward strengthening the welfare of lawyers and upholding the rule of law in Jammu and Kashmir.”
