The official further warned that strict action would be taken against violators. “All Food Business Operators whether manufacturers, retailers or wholesalers are hereby warned to strictly adhere to food safety laws. Any violation will result in prosecution and may lead to the sealing of establishments. There will be no compromise on food quality, especially during the festive season,” he added.

The department stated it will continue regular inspections across Srinagar to ensure adherence to food safety norms and protect public health.

“We appeal to consumers to remain alert and report any substandard or suspicious food products to the Food Safety Department. Public safety is our top priority, and we are committed to taking action against those who endanger it,” the official said. (JKNS)
