DC Kathua reviews Eid-Ul-Azha arrangements

Kathua: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review and finalize arrangements for the upcoming Eid-Ul-Azha celebrations in Kathua district.
The meeting was attended by ASP Rahul Charak; ADC Vishavjeet Singh; ACD Akhil Sadotra and engineers from the PDD and Jal Shakti departments, ADCs Basohli and Billawar as well as SDMs of Hiranagar and Bani.
It was informed that the main Eid congregation would be held at the Eid Gah near Government ITI Kathua and several other designated locations across the district.
The DC directed the ADCs and SDMs to deploy Executive Magistrates, security personnel besides making provision of necessary civic amenities at all congregation sites.
Emphasizing a coordinated approach, the DC asked the departmental heads to take advance measures for making available adequate drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, medical aid and deployment of fire tenders. Police authorities were asked to make security measures with adequate deployment of personnel around religious places.
The FCS&CA department was tasked with keeping a check on black-marketing, ensuring fair pricing and display of approved rate lists of commodities.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Sub-Divisional heads to hold coordination meetings with local stakeholders to ensure that all preparations for Eid-Ul-Azha are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Prominent community members and representatives of trader organizations were also present at the meeting.
