Jyestha Amavasya Mela Celebrated at Seer Jageer Sopore, Large Participation of Pandit Families

Sopore, May 27 (JKNS): The Managing Committee of Asthapan Shri Nandkishwar Ji Maharaj on Tuesday organized a grand religious mela on the occasion of “Jyestha Amavasya” at Seer Jageer in Sopore, witnessing participation from a large number of Kashmiri Pandit families across Jammu and Kashmir.

Devotees performed Puja and participated in other celebratory programmes held throughout the day. Locals from the Muslim community also joined the festivities, presenting a strong message of communal harmony and brotherhood.

Officials present at the event included MLA Sopore Irshad Rasool Kar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore S.A. Raina (JKAS), SSP Sopore Iftikhar Talib (JKPS), senior BJP leader Amar Bhadur Ji, and prominent Pandit figure Pran Raina, among other dignitaries.

The administration had made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the mela, while the Jammu and Kashmir Police had put in place tight security to ensure peaceful observance of the religious gathering. (JKNS)
