Kupwara, May 26: In a move signaling strong collaboration for regional progress, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Javid Ahmad Mirchal met with General Officer Commanding (GOC) K Mohan Nair at Kupwara today. The meeting highlighted a shared commitment between civil authorities and the armed forces to work collectively for the betterment of the Karnah constituency.

MLA Mirchal expressed deep appreciation for the warm welcome extended by GOC Nair. “I am truly thankful to GOC Sahab for the love and hospitality extended during our meeting. His patient listening and encouraging response to the issues raised reflect a genuine concern for the people of Karnah,” said the MLA.

The meeting focused on several critical issues affecting the region:

* Special Recruitment Drive: A proposal was put forward for a dedicated recruitment initiative aimed at providing local youth with meaningful employment and a secure future.
* Security Enhancement at SM Hills: The installation of a full-body scanner at the SM Hills checkpoint was discussed, aiming to bolster security and streamline transit operations in this strategically important area.
* Upgrading AGS Teethwal: MLA Mirchal emphasized the urgent need to modernize the infrastructure and facilities at the Army Goodwill School (AGS) in Teethwal, enhancing educational outcomes for local students.
* New AGS Branches in Taad and Hajitra: To further expand access to quality education, the MLA proposed establishing two new AGS branches in the remote villages of Taad and Hajitra.

GOC Nair assured MLA Mirchal that the concerns raised would be taken seriously and addressed on a priority basis. “There will be joint and coordinated efforts for the development and betterment of the people of Karnah,” the GOC stated.

The meeting stands as a testament to the growing synergy between civilian leadership and the military in Jammu and Kashmir. With a common vision for development, security, and education, the discussions promise a positive path forward for the people of Karnah.
