GMC Anantnag’s Dr Showkat Hussain Tali Named State Coordinator for IAP BLS-ALS Courses in J&K, Ladakh

Anantnag, May 24 (JKNS): In a moment of honour for Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, Dr Showkat Hussain Tali, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Pediatrics at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, has been selected as the State Coordinator for IAP-BLS ALS courses by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP).

According to details available with news agency JKNS, Dr Tali is the first pediatrician from Kashmir to be selected for this prestigious national role. Under the IAP-ALS BLS initiative, the Indian Academy of Pediatrics is responsible for conducting Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) training sessions across the country. These trainings aim to equip both common citizens and medical professionals with critical life-saving skills.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian Academy of Pediatrics is not only India’s largest academic body for Pediatric Medicine but also the second-largest globally in the field. Dr Tali’s selection is a reflection of his excellence and contribution to pediatric health care.

Congratulating him, GMC Anantnag’s Principal and Dean, Prof. Dr Rukhsana Najeeb, applauded Dr Showkat for achieving this national recognition. “This brings laurels to our institution and reinforces the commitment of our faculty to excellence in academic and clinical pediatrics,” she said. (JKNS)
