Public complaints had been received against the said driver, alleging repeated risky behavior on the road, official said.

A video that surfaced on social media platforms showed Shanker Kumar performing stunts while deliberately concealing the number plate of his vehicle to avoid legal consequences, he said.

Following the viral video and complaints, an FIR No. 109/2025 was registered at Police Station Nagrota under Sections 281/125 of BNS and 3/181/184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The E-Rickshaw used in the act has also been seized, he said.

Traffic Police City Jammu stated that it is tightening its grip on such offenders. Just a few days ago, a well-known YouTuber was also apprehended for similar stunts on public roads.

Officials reiterated their appeal to the public to refrain from such dangerous acts and urged citizens to report any such incidents. Violators can be reported on WhatsApp at +91-94191-47732 or via email at [email protected] — the official ID of the SSP Traffic City Jammu. (JKNS)
