Srinagar :Police on Monday successfully busted a immoral trafficking racket operating in the Barzulla Kunzer area of Baramulla district.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that while acting on specific and credible intelligence police conducted a swift and well-coordinated raid leading to arrest of four individuals, including a woman for involvement in immoral trafficking activities. Police in its statement identified the accused as Ab Ahad WazaS/o Ab Khaliq WazaR/o Utikoo Sheikhpora, Mohd Abdullah Waza S/o Ghulam Mohiuddin Waza R/o Barzulla Kunzer, Bilal Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Rasool Bhat R/o Bamroda, presently residing at Utikoo and one lady (name withheld).
Stating that a case under FIR No. 37/2025 at Police Station Kunzer under relevant sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA) was registered, Police in its statement further said that further investigation is underway to identify and dismantle any larger network linked to this operation.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its commitment to maintain law and order and take strict action against all forms of social evils, appealing therein people to stay vigilant and report any such illegal activities to the nearest police station for prompt action.
