Rajouri: Rajouri Police on Monday arrested an individual Under Public Safety Act in the interest of state.
Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS resds, District Police Rajouri has detained one Mohd Qasim S/O Talib Hussain R/O Gundha, Tehsil Khawas under the provisions of the Public Safety Act (PSA) in the interest of the security of the state, it reads.
The detention order was issued by the Competent Authority and the individual has been lodged in District Jail Jammu following formal execution of the order, it reads.
Statement reads, It is pertinent to mention that the said individual was involved in FIR No. 87/2023 U/S 212 IPC of Police Station Budhal and his activities were found to be prejudicial to the security of state and stability of the region.
District Police Rajouri remains committed to taking firm action against elements that pose a threat to public peace and the security of the state, reads the statement. (JKNS)
