Poonch, May 18 (JKNS): In a significant step towards ensuring civilian safety, the Indian Army, in close coordination with local police, successfully carried out a controlled operation to destroy 42 unexploded shells in the border areas of Jhullas, Salotri, Dharati, and Salani in Poonch district.
According to a statement issued to news agency JKNS, these unexploded shells remnants of recent cross-border shelling posed a grave threat to the lives and safety of residents in the region.
The operation was executed with strict adherence to safety protocols to minimize any risk to human life and property. Expert Bomb Disposal Teams of the Indian Army, supported by local police units, ensured complete neutralization of the explosives, it reads.
The statement further noted that the effort reflects the Army’s continued commitment to restoring normalcy and securing vulnerable populations living in border zones. (JKNS)
