Ban Imposed on Sale of Fuel in Bottles, Cans in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, May 13 (JKNS): The District Magistrate of Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), has ordered a complete ban on the sale of petrol and diesel in bottles, cans, or any unauthorized containers across the district.

DM Kisthwar in an order a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, Citing serious threats to public safety and potential fire hazards, the order states that petrol pumps and fueling stations were reportedly selling fuel in such containers, which is both illegal and dangerous. The order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, has come into immediate effect.

“Any person or fuel station found violating this order will face strict action under law,” the District Magistrate said.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, has been directed to ensure full enforcement. The order has been communicated through public platforms and official notice boards of all concerned offices for widespread awareness. (JKNS)
