The police have strongly advised the general public not to touch or approach any unexploded shell or suspicious object under any circumstances. They urged residents to maintain a safe distance and immediately vacate the area if any such object is spotted.

Citizens have been asked to inform the nearest police station or call PCR Poonch without delay if they come across any unexploded shell. The police emphasized that educating children about the dangers of unknown metal objects is essential, and parents must instruct them never to pick or play with such items.

The advisory further states that taking photographs or videos near such shells is extremely dangerous and should be strictly avoided. Residents have also been warned against moving, covering, or interacting with any suspicious object in any manner.

Poonch Police appealed for full public cooperation with security forces and bomb disposal squads during clearance operations. People have been urged not to enter fields or forested areas suspected to contain unexploded shells unless cleared by the concerned authorities.

“Unexploded shells are lethal. Your caution can prevent tragedy. Stay Alert. Report Immediately. Ensure Safety,” the police advisory concludes, urging people to spread awareness in their communities to prevent accidents. (JKNS)
