MLA Ajaz Jan Visits Shelling-Hit Areas in Poonch, Assures Full Support to Victims

Poonch: In the wake of intense shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Haveli, Ajaz Jan on Wednesday visited the affected areas and relief camps to express solidarity with the victims.

Jan distributed essential supplies among the displaced residents and assured them that the government stands firmly with the affected families. “Every possible measure will be taken to ensure safety, rehabilitation and adequate compensation for the losses,” he told reporters during the visit.

Several civilians have sustained injuries while multiple houses and livestock were damaged in the shelling from across the LoC. The administration has shifted locals from vulnerable areas to safer shelters and launched immediate relief operations.

Jan said the situation is being monitored at the highest level and efforts are underway to restore normalcy in the region. He also urged the central government to ensure long-term measures for the safety of border residents.

Meanwhile, district authorities and security forces remain on high alert to prevent further loss and ensure coordination of relief efforts. (JKNS)
