NIA Urges Public to Share Visuals, Details on Pahalgam Terror Attack

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has appealed to tourists, visitors, and locals to come forward with any information, photographs, or videos related to the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam.

Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, The agency has already obtained a substantial number of visuals showing various aspects of the April 22 attack and is currently examining them. However, it now aims to intensify its efforts to ensure no vital clue or piece of evidence is overlooked in the investigation of what it described as a “horrendous crime against humanity.”

In a public appeal issued through its website and social media handles, the NIA has urged people to contact the agency on mobile number 9654958816 or landline 011-24368800, and to share their personal details along with a description of the information or material they wish to provide. A senior NIA official will then connect with the individual to collect the relevant data, it reads.

As the lead agency investigating the attack, the NIA is meticulously reviewing all available photos, videos, and other evidence to uncover clues about the assailants and their modus operandi. Authorities believe that tourists or locals might have witnessed or captured some critical detail knowingly or unknowingly that could assist in piecing together the larger conspiracy behind the targeted killings, statement reads.

Several visuals have already surfaced on social media since the April 22 attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists and left many others injured. The agency plans to thoroughly analyze all such content, in addition to any new material submitted by the public, it reads.

NIA teams remain stationed in Pahalgam, continuing their search for forensic evidence at the attack site and questioning witnesses, the statement added, reads the statement. (JKNS)
