Ganderbal : Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW), Mission Shakti Ganderbal on Monday organized an awareness cum felicitation programme focused on the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative and other government schemes for empowerment of women at Poshan Project Kangan.
The events aimed to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education and the role it plays in fostering gender equality in the community.
On the occasion, awareness was raised on key government initiatives such as the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme, which focuses on the protection, education, and participation of girls, along with other vital programs like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Tejaswini scheme Beti Anmol hai scheme, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and other women related schemes under different departments .
These initiatives provide financial support, health benefits and incentives for girls’ education, creating a robust foundation for their future success.
Experts spoke about the transformative power of education and the importance of breaking down societal barriers that limit girls’ opportunities.
During the event, Badhaye kits were distributed among 30 nursing mothers of baby girls of Poshan Project Kangan.
