Two Injured as Under-Construction Cable Walkway Collapses into River Jhelum in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, May 6 (JKNS): An under-construction cable walkway over the River Jhelum collapsed on Monday in the Latti Mohallah Shadipora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, leaving two individuals injured.

An official told news agency JKNS that the structure gave way during construction, causing a serious mishap. The injured have been identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Lorhanji, son of Mohammad Sultan Lorhanji, resident of Latti, and Azad Ahmad Guroo, son of Mohammad Ramzan Guroo, resident of Gundroshan.

Both injured persons were immediately shifted to JVC Hospital for medical treatment. A police party was also deputed to the site for necessary assistance and investigation.
