One Dead, Another Injured in Landslide While Extracting Stones in Kupwara

Kupwara, May 6 (JKNS): A man lost his life while another sustained injuries in landslide incident that occurred during stone extraction at Bandpora Drugmulla area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.

An offical told news agency JKNS that the two individuals Habibullah Malik, son of Ab Ahad Malik, a resident of Najar Mohalla Drugmulla, and Imtiyaz Ahmad Peer, son of Gh Nabi Peer, a resident of Pir Mohalla Drugmulla were injured when a landslide struck the site they were working at.

Both were rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara for medical assistance, where Habibullah Malik was declared brought dead by doctors, he said.

Imtiyaz Ahmad Peer is currently undergoing treatment. Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident. (JKNS)
