Jammu: To empower young women through skill development and other schemes & facilities. Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Social Welfare Department (SANKALP-HEW).
The MoU was signed by the College Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol, and District Social Welfare Officer (Nodal Officer, SANKALP HEW) Nawaz Sharief. Also present at the event were Associate Professor Dr. Aditi Khajuria and Associate Professor Dr. Snobar, along with District Mission Coordinator Social Welfare Department Dr. Ruchi Thakur & Gender Specialist, SANKALP, HEW, Social Welfare Department Mansi Abrol.
As part of this collaboration, Hub for Empowerment of Woman (HEW) has been established in the College, offering a dedicated platform to women students pursuing higher education & various other fields. The initiative will offer students various opportunities, including participation in knowledge-building sessions, skill-enhancement workshops, industry-oriented training programs, and networking events organized by SANKALP-HEW.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Meeru Abrol hailed District Social Welfare Department (SANKALP-HEW) initiatives for the College. She highlighted the importance of such schemes & various knowledge building programmes and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting future initiatives that contribute to the holistic development of students.
This partnership marks another significant step by the District Social Welfare Department (SANKALP-HEW), Samba towards fostering skill development and financial empowerment among young women, reinforcing its mission to create a brighter future for women in Jammu and Kashmir.
